Caution:
Never freeze live mussels,

If you have a shellfish allergy, avoid mussels,
Don't overcook your mussels - about four minutes for any recipe,
Don't buy mussels from "seawater" tanks,
Don't cook a mussel that doesn't snap shut when touched.
How many do our recipes serve?
As a general rule, we recommend 1 pound of mussels per person for a main course and 1/2 pound for an appetizer.
